Racer Tech introduces an amazing blend of ride quality and performance for the 2 seat RZR XP 900. Our Dynamic Inertia Spring System (D.I.S.S.) has been proven for years in other replacement spring kits we sell and seems to get better and better for each model that comes out.
This kit is a complete set of dual rate spring for the front and rear which are 2.5” I.D.. This make this kit universal to all aftermarket 2.0" or equivalent shocks so if you ever decide to upgrade to aftermarket shocks you don’t have to buy shocks with springs. You can take your Racer Tech springs with you! Good thing too because this spring kit is being proven weekly to be a better set up than even the aftermarket shock companies can provide with their shocks.
This kit includes adapter rings which convert the OEM upper and lower spring retainers from a 2.25” ID set up to the 2.5” springs that come in this kit. The kit also includes Racer Tech’s CNC machines Delrin spring spacers. These are designed to slide up and down the body of the shock straight and true for a long time due to their precision design and high quality American material.
Note: If using the standard kit the rear spring protectors can be retained. Our “Race” retainers do not allow for the continued use of these guards.
This kit is 100% MADE IN THE U.S.A. and we at RT are VERY proud of this!
This kit fits all year RZR XP 900 2 seat models. This does not work for XP4’s!
Kit includes (8) springs, (8) adapter rings and (4) spring spacers. All springs come with silver powdercoat.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SPRING RATE
RACE RETAINER UPGRADE
While it’s rather uncommon on the XP, we’ve managed to break a couple of the OEM lower spring retainers during extreme driving. Due to this, Racer Tech has designed custom billet retainers which substantially improve on the original design by increasing the cross sectional area of the part as well as employing much better materials. All Race retainers are gold anodized. If this upgrade is selected four of the originally supplied adapter rings will be substituted for four of these retainers.
For the ultimate performance from the OEM shocks, add these springs and contact FCR Suspension in West Virginia for revalving of the rear shocks only. We've worked extensively with these guys and they have an EXCELLENT valving solution for the RZR XP 900 shocks. With these springs and service from FCR there is no reason to spend money on aftermarket shocks unless you need custom lengths or if you are running hard enough to over heat the OEM shock fluids frequently.
"It's hard to say what's the best when you've only tried one. At Racer Tech we believe we have the best spring replacement kit in the world and are willing to put our money where our mouth is. If you have a competitor’s spring kit and want to try ours, buy it. If you don't feel our springs are better than what you have you can send them back for a 100% refund."
The Dynamic Inertia Spring System (D.I.S.S.) is a proprietary Racer Tech Design we’ve pioneered and perfected. It uses a heavier top spring (short spring) rather than the “tender” springs normally found in traditional dual rate designs. Normally the “tender” spring is only included to provide a softer ride at the very first inch or two of the suspension travel and mostly to reduce the harshness of the suspensions rebound (when the shock extends). The D.I.S.S. design used the short heavy spring to “fight” the long spring which carries the majority of the ride. While both springs are active the initial rate of the spring is softer for a smoother ride. Once the short spring shifts out (like a normal dual rate) the single rate of the long spring takes over, BUT the transition is substantially less dramatic. This causes a much less noticeable change over which results in a smoother ride while still keeping rebound speeds in check. The really incredible part of the D.I.S.S. design, (and mainly where the name is derived from) is how the two springs work together. The harder the shock compression, or higher the inertia, the quicker the spring kit shifts over to the stiffer single rate. This means when cruising around the springs are both active constantly and the ride is smooth. As soon as the driving becomes more aggressive the springs start kicking in the stiffer rate sooner to reduce bottoming (G-outs) and body roll. This design is truly unprecedented and has been refined to the point of perfection. We have no doubt others will try to copy this design as it continues to prove itself. Just remember where you saw it first!
- Better than progressive springs Review by Steve
Thanks for providing a good product, and especially thank you for working with me on a solution. (Posted on 4/25/13)
- One of the best upgrades I have done! Review by drhude
We set the spring preload on the rear at 1/4" and preload on the front at 1/2", and set the dampening adjustment at 10 clicks out from bottom all the way around, it seems about perfect. I am sure a little more tweeking could get it perfect but I was having too much fun. Katie was great with order and questions that I had. The springs did not come with instructions so watch that you put the right springs on the front and rear, they look very similar. If you have any questions give them a call. Great customer support. This and power steering are the two best things I have done to my RZR. (Posted on 2/25/13)
