Quick Overview

Introducing the new Racer Tech 2" RZR Lift Kit. It was brought to our attention that almost EVERY lift kit on the market has been causing serious CV and boot damage in short time. This is just ridiculous... A company should have tested proven and functional products. Not slapped together junk. Here at Racer Tech we do things right the first time, period.

Product Description

Racer Tech is proud to present the first lift kit that WILL NOT cause any CV issues for the remainder of the life of your RZR. We know this because we've tested the kit and can honestly say the rear will not droop any lower than the factory setup. We achieve this by relocating the UPPER shock mounts and not the lowers. This method improves the shock angles which require a lower spring rate to hold the vehicle at ride height. When retaining the stock springs however, the ride height is raised. This kit will allow you to back the "clickers" on your shocks down and still have the desired height needed for that additional ground clearance. So you get two things with this kit. A taller ride height PLUS an improved ride! Actual height gains will vary but expect approximately 1.5” rear lift and 2” front. We’ve found our best performance with these machines by setting the fronts 0.5-1” taller.

Another improvement we make with this kit is correcting the front sway bar travel. This may not be extremely noticeable to most, but it’s just another way Racer Tech takes care of business!,

This kit is all bolt-on and the installation can be completed in less than 1.5 hours. There are four holes to be drilled in the rear of the frame for the ultimate in strength but this job is made simple by the very thorough instructions this kit comes with. This kit comes complete with all necessary components, hardware and instructions for complete installation. Kits are powdercoated your choice of Black, RZR Red or LE Silver. THIS KIT WILL FIT RZR, RZR S or RZR 4. Please select which model you have below when purchasing.

If you have a RZR S or RZR 4 you do not need the sway bar links which come with the standard RZR kit. RZR S and RZR 4 are the same kit. AVAILABLE NOW!: Quick Disconnect front sway bar kit - This can be an upgrade to your existing kit! NOTE: The Quick Disconnect Kit does NOT work for the 2012 Standard RZR's. Please do not order this upgrade if you are ordering a kit for a 2012.

As of 3/1/12 We are now charging a custom color fee for non-standard colors. We have recently switched to a new powdercoat supplier to improve quality and lead times. The trade-off has been custom fees which we are no longer able to absorb. By switching to standardized colors we expect to drastically improve lead times for these high demand kits so ultimately we feel this is a positive change for everyone.

Kits are usually in stock but please allow for 1-2 week backorders due to extremely high demand of this product. Just because the site says they're in stock does not always guarantee we have kits on the shelf. Please email to check lead times if it's a major concern.

OPTIONS:

Model -
  • - RZR S / RZR 4 - This kit will fit all year and model RZR S and RZR 4.
  • - RZR Standard - This kit fit's all standard 50" RZR's from 2008 and up.
  • - RZR Walker Evans Edition - This kit uses custom length sway bar links for the front sway bar to clear the reservoirs of the Walker Evans Shocks.
  • - RZR Standard WITHOUT sway bar links - This kit will work on all model 50" RZR's from 2008 and up . This kit is the same as the other standard kits except it doesn't include any sway bar links. This option is for Standard RZR owners who do not want to run their front sway bars.

    Muzzy's Exhaust -

Choose this option if you are running or plan to Run a Muzzy's dual exhaust system. Our lift kit works with all other exhaust kits we are aware of except the Muzzy's which is a very common kit. This option will get you customized rear plates which will clear the OEM muffler OR the Muzzy's mufflers. A regular style kit will not clear the Muzzy's kit.

    Front Sway Bar Quick Disconnect

The front sway bar quick disconnect upgrade ONLY applies to the 50" RZR's running front sway bars. The Quick Disconnect upgrade gives you a modified hardware package which contains longer lower shock bolts with cross drilled holes and quick-pull pins to release the lower end of the sway bar from the A-arm. The kit also supplies another shorter pair of cross-drilled bolts you will drill through the front fascia directly under the headlights to install. These serve as a post to mount the loose ends of the sway bar links to when they are disconnected from the arms without them swinging around and getting damaged. NOTE: The Quick Disconnect Kit does NOT work for the 2012 Standard RZR's. Please do not order this upgrade if you are ordering a kit for a 2012.

    F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions)

    Q. Will this lift kit make my RZR tipsier?

    A. Any time you raise a vehicles center of gravity will get a little tipsier due to the weight getting higher. However, our kit will definitely give the least effect. Part of our design was done to counter act the raised center of gravity. By spacing out the distance from upper shock mount to mount, we are able to essentially "trick" the roll axis of the machine by requiring more leverage to make the body roll. At the same time this is happening, the shocks are also a bit better positioned to hold up against the weight of the vehicles weight shifting due to the improved operating angle of the shock. Ultimately, the final performance ends up being, in most customers’ eye's, equal to or better than OEM handling and tipsiness.

    Q. Will this kit cause issues with the CV joints on a 2011 RZR?

    A. This is as common a question as it is a good question. There are many lift kits out there which bind CV's and cause lots of issues down the road. Our kit is not one of them. There are a lot of people talking about CV issues with the 2011 RZR's. The truth is Polaris did go to a smaller axle and CV assembly which makes it a bit weaker. The geometry of the suspension however, has not changed at all. Therefore our kit works the same way as it always has. The CV's max operating angle is still the same so there is no bind. The issue really comes into play when people start adding larger tires or more power. The drive axles on the 2011 can't handle as much as the old ones so they break or wear out and start acting like they're binding. This all boils down to an issue with the axles and not so much the lift kit.

    Q. I live in Colorado and am in desperate need of more ground clearance for riding in the mountains. I want to raise it in stages until I get to where I need to be and eventually go with taller tires. It sounds like 2" is about the most suspension lift that can safely be done without risking damaging the CV joints. What's the best way to get there, springs or a lift kit? The lower cost of the lift kit is appealing and yours looks like the best built one on the market but doesn't the more vertical position of the shocks/springs reduce total suspension travel?

    A. The more vertical shock angles will reduce the travel slightly but in this case it's only about half an inch. We've found the change to be negligible. The travel is taken from the up-stroke so the suspension actually bottoms out with a half inch MORE ground clearance. The other aspect to consider is the improved shock geometry puts the shock where it should be originally and this makes for improved handling and stability which nicely counter acts the raised center of gravity. We firmly believe in the theory that good travel is better than more travel.

As far as using the lift before shocks our opinion is this; We feel if any changing will be done to a suspension, the first thing to do is fix the geometry. This will make everything else you do afterwards different. If you put on a spring kit to get lift and then add a lift kit later, the ride will most likely be harsh. If you start with a lift and then add springs we can recommend the best rate option to you then. The lift will change and improve the geometry. The springs will adjust the ride height only. Aftermarket springs do improve ride and handling in our case but their primary purpose is just that. Springs are not necessarily to designed to lift the vehicle. The lift is a byproduct. We are aware there are other companies who are trying to imply their springs will do everything at once and get a lift but you must consider the same laws of physics apply to them as well.

Great product and very easy install Review by Summitrider

After doing my due diligence on this product and others. This seems to be the way to go. I viewed the install instructions and they appeared straight forward enough.... once I actually got the product in my hands and began the install.... any issues that arose, was because I did not read the instructions fully..... very easy to understand... when installing the bolts, no problems. Excellent photos and coding of the bolts to ensure the easiest possible install.
If I was to nit pick, then I would maybe have a brief discussion about the sway bars... not sure what they actually do... the stock sway bars are not adjustable, the ones that come in the kit I ordered are adjustable.

Great product and thank you for the great instructions. (Posted on 2/27/12)
